BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE SAUCE

BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE SAUCE

A rich and creamy hot fudge with a bittersweet undertone.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate - chips or chopped
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted cream butter, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons superfine sugar
  • 2 tablespoons liqueur (Kahlua, Frangelico or Chambord), optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate in a medium-size mixing bowl. Bring the cream to a boil, then add butter and sugar and stir to combine. Remove from the heat and pour over the chocolate.
  2. Whisk vigorously until melted and combined. Add your liqueur of choice along with the vanilla and stir constantly until the mixture is cool to the touch. Warm before serving.
