THAI TURKEY BURGERS

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground turkey breast
- 3 tablespoons seasoned breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 green onions, minced
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- Sesame Mayonnaise (see below)
Instructions
- Combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, hoisin, scallions, ginger, garlic, and seasoning, and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Form into 1/2-inch-thick patties and refrigerate until ready to cook.
- Heat the grill to medium-high or heat a nonstick saucepan on top of the stove over medium heat. Oil the grill or use non-stick cooking spray on the sauté pan. Brush the patties with sesame oil and grill or sauté until golden brown on both sides and cooked through (a thermometer inserted in the center of the burger should read 165°F), about 5 minutes per side.
- Meanwhile, make a Sesame Mayonnaise by combining a cup of mayonnaise with a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil. Serve with the burgers.
